Knowing God

Have you ever wondered what it's like to know God?  I mean ... to really know God?  For a few minutes let's look at how one can find God and come to know Him personally.

Step One :
We need to admit our lost condition. All of us are born into the world separated from God.  The bible says 'for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God' (Romans 3:23).

Step Two:
We need to know what God has done for us: The good news is that God loved us so much that he sent His only Son into the world that whosoever believes in Him would not perish but would have eternal life.  He sent Jesus Christ to rescue us from sin.  The Bible says 'for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord'  (Romans 6:23).

Step Three:
We need to personally believe and receive God's gift.  No one can earn a relationship with God, it's a gift of love and mercy.  No one is saved by trying to be good.  We are saved by trusting in Christ.  The Bible says 'For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God not of works, lest any man should boast'  (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Would you like to make Him Lord of your life?  The words we say to God may vary.  What is important is that we believe God hears us when we say 'Father, I know I am a sinner.  I have sinned against you.  I believe that Jesus Christ is your Son and that He died for my sins.  Come into my heart right now.  I accept your gift of eternal life.  Thank you for your gift of salvation.  Amen'
